Aruba Ports Authority Unveils Ambitious Barcadera Business Park Project Set to Kick Off in 2024
Mr. Dangui Oduber, the Minister of Tourism and Public Health, and Mr. Marc Figaroa, CEO of Aruba Ports Authority N.V. (APA), unveiled the comprehensive Masterplan detailing the ongoing projects of APA for the year 2024. Minister Oduber emphasized APA’s pivotal role in the economic development of the country, particularly with initiatives like the Barcadera Business Park (BBP). Showcasing its significance in the transition from a port authority to a key player in Aruba’s economy.
Mastering Diversification
Given Aruba’s strategic geographical location, there is a concerted effort to maximize the utilization of the area near the cargo port. The BBP is poised to contribute to economic diversification, fostering job growth in the logistics, warehousing, and industrial sectors. This development aims to stimulate import and export activities, positioning Aruba as a central distribution hub within the region.
Investor Call
Alongside the exploration of new opportunities, such as the development of APA’s terrain at the Barcadera wharf, APA’s objective is to keep diversifying the economy and facilitating investor participation. This marks a milestone in Aruba’s history, with land allocation occurring for the first time, offering equal opportunities for all to engage in the process. This endeavor is guided by APA in collaboration with Ports of Amsterdam International.
