Diederik Kemmerling, a German internet entrepreneur specializing in E-commerce and Digital Marketing, has been a trailblazer in shaping the digital marketing landscape in the Caribbean. Born on February 4th, 1981, he has established himself as a prominent figure in the industry.
Kemmerling’s journey commenced with his studies in International Business & Languages, specializing in New Media, at the Hogeschool Utrecht in Holland and the University of Huelva in Spain. Armed with an educational foundation, he embarked on a career as an E-commerce & Online CRM Manager for Douwe Egberts and Sara Lee in Holland. During this tenure, he excelled in developing online sales strategies, achieving a 60% increase in online sales within a two-year period. His collaboration with Holland’s largest Digital Marketing Agencies, including Digitas LBi, iProspect, and New Craft, further enriched his knowledge and expertise.
In 2012, Kemmerling relocated to Aruba and founded The Lab Digital Marketing Agency. Within two years, he successfully expanded The Lab’s operations to Curacao. Today, The Lab proudly serves over 160 clients, including organizations such as the Dr. Horacio Oduber Hospital, Korps Politie Aruba, AZV, Aruba Tourism Authority, Marriott, Hilton, Digicel Caribbean, Coldwell Banker, Mc Donalds, and more. Kemmerling’s expertise has also played an important role in supporting projects for Aruba Doet, the University of Aruba, and the Medellin Departments of Education. In recognition of his accomplishments, The Lab received the ‘Best in Business award’ from Guardian Group in 2017.
Beyond his marketing endeavors, Kemmerling organized and presented the successful E-Aruba, E-Curacao, and E-SXM Digital Marketing Seminars for eight consecutive years attracting over 1500 attendees every year. In 2023, Kemmerling launched ColombiaHealthcare.com, a platform dedicated to providing healthcare services in Colombia to the Caribbean.
As a testament to his leadership and expertise, Kemmerling has served as a board member of the Aruba Chamber of Commerce since 2020 and assumed the role of President of the Aruba Chamber of Commerce in 2024.
