Deputy Representative of the Netherlands in Aruba
Vincent Storimans (1979) serves as Deputy Representative of the Netherlands in Aruba since July 2023, working on the relationship between the European part of the Kingdom and Aruba. Before his posting in Oranjestad, he was Deputy Consul General in San Francisco, covering the US West Coast (13 States). Prior to his role in California, Vincent served as First Secretary at the Netherlands Embassy in Washington D.C. (2015-2018).
Vincent was Private Secretary to the Netherlands Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, Mrs. Lilianne Ploumen (2013 –2015).
From 2011-2013, he worked as Second Secretary at the Netherlands Embassy in Beijing. In that role he was responsible for the (Renewable) Energy and Finance Portfolio.
From 2009-2011, he worked at the Non-proliferation, Disarmament, Arms Control and Export Control Policy Division at the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague.
In this position his responsibilities included the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention (BTWC), Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC), the Global Initiative to Combat Nuclear Terrorism (GICNT) and the First Committee of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
Before 2009, he held positions at the Netherlands Ministry of Economic Affairs, working on trade relations with Turkey, and the Netherlands Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations (2007-2009).
Vincent Storimans holds a law degree from the University of Amsterdam (2006).
