Sustainable Development
Mr. Wever obtained two Master’s Degrees, one in Notarial Law (2005) and the other in Tax Law (2006) from the Free University of Amsterdam and started his legal career as a tax lawyer in the Netherlands. After working in Amsterdam as Tax Advisor, Mr. Wever returned to Aruba in 2007 to practice Corporate and Tax Law. Mr. Wever furthered his career at different law offices where he was twice in the function of Senior Associate and became in 2015 partner of a local law firm.
Mr. Wever was also part-time lecturer at the University of Aruba teaching Corporate Law at the Faculty for Accounting, Finance and Marketing, and Civil Procedure at the Faculty of Law. In 2020, Mr. Wever became scientific staff member of Constitutional Law at the University of Aruba, Faculty of Law, Lecturer of Constitutional Law, and Doctoral (PhD)
Candidate of Constitutional Law.
In 2021, Mr. Wever joined the political party RAIZ and in June 2021, he became member of Parliament and Fraction leader of RAIZ in Parliament. In September 2021, Mr. Wever was appointed as Minister of Economic Affairs, Communication, and Sustainable Development.
